⚡️🇺🇸🇮🇷 WaPo: Senior US military leaders have warned Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth that extending the Iran war is becoming unsustainable, with a classified Pentagon assessment saying prolonged operations are weakening America’s ability to respond to threats elsewhere.

The heads of European, Pacific and Southern Commands, along with the Navy’s top admiral, formally “non-concurred” with orders to extend forces supporting the Iran campaign. The Navy chief warned that it cannot sustain its current level of support indefinitely, with only about one-quarter of the Navy’s destroyers currently ready to deploy.

The assessment warns that the war has become “too much for too long,” as US ships, aircraft, personnel, air-defense interceptors and other weapons have been diverted to the Middle East, reducing readiness for potential conflicts elsewhere, including in Europe and the Indo-Pacific.
